SMACers shine at QDD Festival

The Waynesboro YMCA and Shanendoah Marlins Aquatic Club Swim Team kicked off the 2008-2009 USA swim season over the weekend at the Quantico Devil Dogs Fall Festival in Manassas. SMAC swimmers were in the 110 top 10 finishes.

SMAC had 44 swimmers that earned 195 lifetime best times.

*13 swimmers competed in their first of many USA meets as a SMAC swimmer.

*Norah Hunt broke her first two SMAC records in the 9-10 girls 200 free and 500 free.

*Remedy Rule also broke two SMAC records in the 11-12 girls 500 free and 200 fly.

*AAA time standards were achieved by Keegan Abar, Jessie Arnold, Lexi Campbell, Katie Keefer, Norah Hunt and Remedy Rule.

*Remedy also achieved three AAAA time standards.

*Swimmers who achieved their first or additional A time standards were: Robby Turner, Brazil Rule, Norah Hunt, Anna Corley, Savannah Scarbrough, Olivia Heeb, Jordan Miller and Lexi Campbell.

Some time drops were posted by the following SMAC swimmers: Bobby Carey was over 22 seconds in the 100 free and over 16 seconds in the 50 fly. Anna Corley was over 15 seconds in the 500 free, Alexander

  Flowers was over 40 seconds in the 200 free and over 32 seconds in the 200 Individual Medley. Jessie Arnold was over 15 seconds in the 500 free, Olivia Heeb had 99 seconds in the 500 free, Hunter McMillon had over 80 seconds in the 100 fly, Ty McReynolds was over 15 seconds in the 200 free, Brazil Rule hadover 17 seconds in the 200 free, Remedy Rule 16 seconds in the 500 free, Savannah Scarbrough over 18 seconds in the 100 breast, Elizabeth Terrell - over 17 seconds in the 100 breast and over 16 seconds in the 100 IM and Logan Terrell over 44 seconds in the 100 breast.
