Wilson falls to Luray

In late prep volleyball action on Tuesday, the Green Hornets lost their final Shenandoah District match to the Bulldogs 23-25, 25-16, 25-27, 24-26 in Luray.

Leading the way for Wilson Memorial was Kala Guy who had four blocks, 26 digs, 24 kills, and 18 service points. Setter Christine Coffield had 24 assists, 16 digs, 12 service points with two aces, a block and one kill. Tiffany Crosby earned 11 digs, 13 set assists, five kills, 11 service points and two aces and a block.

Jessica Arbogast picked up three blocks, 20 digs, two set assists, eight kills and two service points. Taijha Jones had five kills, five service points, one block and one set assist while Noel Bartley added six blocks, nine digs, two set assists, six kills and a service point.

As the No. 1 seed in the Shenandoah District Tournament, Wilson Memorial will get a first-round bye and will play the winner of the No. 4-No.5 match on Oct. 31.

The Wilson JV team lost in two to the Bulldogs 19-25, 24-26. Ashley Gochenour had five service points, three aces, one block and one kill. Katie Grimm had five service points with four aces, one block and three set assists. Both Danielle Dove and Shelby Blevins each had two kills.
