Fishburne faces Mack Academy
After months of practice and anticipation, the Fishburne Military School Post Graduate basketball team will get its day on the court.
Today at 4:30 p.m., the Caissons will host Mack Academy for the team’s home opener, looking to start the program’s first season off with a win.

SMAC shines in pair of meet
The annual QDD Fall Festival swim meet, hosted by the QDD swim team, was held at George Mason University’s Freedom Aquatic Center on Oct. 17 and 18. SMAC swimmers, who had been fighting the H1N1 flu the week prior, took 12 athletes to the meet.

The Augusta FC under-17 Girls Red travel team will host the Loudon ’92 Girls Red team from Loudon Soccer in a first round Virginia Youth Soccer Association State Cup match. The game will be held at Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind on field No. 1 at 1:00 pm on Saturday.

Clover Hill – After six nail-biting games of high quality baseball, Game 7 of the Rockingham County Baseball League Championship Series was sloppy and largely anti-climatic as the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks fell to the Clover Hill Bucks 7-1 at Buck Bowman Park.
