Giants slip by Wildcats

In Lexington, Waynesboro needed five games to dispose of Rockbridge County on a rare Monday night edition of Southern Valley District volleyball.

The Little Giants took the match 25-14, 19-25, 25-19, 24-26, 15-6, surging in the final game to secure the win.

Jonquil Brown finished the night with 15 service points and Taylor DeWitt put in 13 service points with 36 assists. Rachel Binda sent home 23 kills and rallied on defense for 35 digs.

The Little Giants (11-4, 4-2 Southern Valley) will return to their non-district schedule on Thursday, traveling to Turner Ashby.

Waynesboro lost the JV match in two games.
