Draft takes TA in 5

In Stuarts Draft, the Stuarts Draft volleyball team squeaked out a win against Turner Ashby on Thursday night, taking it to five games.

The Cougars won the match 23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 15-13, adding to its 11-1 record. The Cougars are 5-1 in Southern Valley District play and will take on Wilson Tuesday.

Draft’s Caroline Campbell led the defensive effort with 44 digs. Danielle Wilson pitched in on offense with 15 kills and was helped by Chayla Burkholder’s 14 kills and Emmy Blacka’s nine kills. Blacka also had three aces.

Erin Brown and Lauren Ellis combined for 42 assists in the match.
