R’heads names new girls basketball coach

Tim Morris will take over the Riverheads girls basketball program for the 2009-2010 season.

Morris served as an assistant principal and athletic director at Covington High School for he past four seasons and also compiled 15 years coaching and teaching experience at William Monroe High School.

As an assistant coach, Morris helped lead the William Monroe boys basketball team to two Group A titles in 1994 and 1995.

Morris replaces Dickie Bell who served as the Gladiators varsity girls basketball coach for six seasons. Bell resigned on April 21. Bell ended his career with the Gladiators with an 84-63 record and led the team to three straight Region B berths. Bell currently coaches the Riverheads boys soccer team.
