TNV FIRST SCORE: Fort softball downs Turner Ashby

In Bridgewater, Fort Defiance starter Jessica Hogle held Turner Ashby scoreless for two innings.

It was all the Indians softball team needed.

After getting herself out of a bases-loaded jam in the second, Hogle watched Kendra Cash and Tiffany Lockridge bang out back-to-back doubles to take a 1-0 lead, then helped herself with an RBI double to make it 2-0. The Knights would score one in the bottom half of the inning, but Fort’s Payton Hill took the circle in the third and held Turner Ashby scoreless the rest of the way for a 2-1 win over the perennial softball power.
