GIRLS SOCCER: Hornets 1 win or tie from title

In Fishersville, Wilson Memorial’s Dee Deacon and Lindsay Suyes both scored two goals on Thursday night, helping the Green Hornets to an 8-0 win over Luray.

The win over the Bulldogs means Wilson will have a shot to win the Shenandoah District outright on Monday when they host Buffalo Gap. If Wilson beats or ties the Bison, they will win the district, while a loss would create a two-way tie for first with the Bison.

Angelica Thacker, Courtney Sims, Laura Trask and Chloe Cawiezel all scored for the Green Hornets (11-0-1, 7-0).
