    STAUNTON — The Staunton Braves met the Front Royal Cardinals on Thursday night in a game to decide who would be the only remaining undefeated team in the Valley League. In a game made all the more entertaining by rain showers that plagued most of the game, the Braves moved their record to 4-0 after beating the Cardinals 9-3.

    NCAA BASEBALL: Virginia reaches super regionals for first time

    Franco Valdes hit a go-ahead triple in the sixth inning to help Virginia beat top-ranked UC Irvine 4-1 on Sunday night and advance to the super regionals for the first time in school history.

    GENERALS: Team, FMS ink naming-rights deal

    This weekend, the Waynesboro Generals announced that Fishburne Military School had partnered with the team and purchased naming rights to the Generals’ home field in a move that the staff believes is a first for the Valley Baseball League.
