A deflated Waynesboro squad watched in disbelief as the final whistle signaled another Game 5 loss.

Wilson’s Taijha Jones got a nice birthday present from her teammates defeating Waynesboro 25-15, 24-26, 16-25, 20-30 on Thursday.

The momentum swung like a pendulum, with a coveted Southern Valley District win hanging in the balance. Waynesboro wanted to rise above .500 in the district, and Fort Defiance was trying to stay undefeated in the Southern Valley.
