Afton man admits part in Waynesboro shootings

An Albemarle grand jury handed down 15 indictments Monday charging a 19-year-old Afton man in the Interstate 64 shootings.

A 19-year-old Afton man charged in connection with the Interstate 64 shootings in March will have his case heard by a grand jury next month.

The 16-year-old who pleaded guilty in an Albemarle County court Wednesday to participation in the string of shootings on and near Interstate 64 in March is now facing charges in Waynesboro as well, police said.

Slade Woodson, the 19-year-old Afton man facing charges for a string of shootings in Waynesboro and on Interstate 64 last month, appeared in a Waynesboro court this morning for an advisement on two new charges in the city.
