Since The News Virginian has in recent days looked into the tax payment history of a private citizen and splashed that report all over their front page (“Chester owes IRS back taxes,” March 11), I wonder if they’ll expand their investigation?

If the reassessment goes forward it will have severe financial impacts on Augusta County.

Augusta County Supervisor Tracy Pyles has the people as his partners.

It seems that the paper is bound and determined to take a negative position on the recent Augusta County reassessment, one that just doesn’t seem to follow the facts.

The News Virginian reported Feb. 13 that Augusta County Supervisor Tracy Pyles will review the methodology used by the company that provided the disputed property reassessments that have attracted much attention from the residents and local media.
