Luray stops an upset

HARRISONBURG –  Luray won the Shenandoah District championship on Thursday night defeating Wilson Memorial 4-2.
“Wilson played a good game,” said Bulldogs coach Steve Griffith.  “They defeated Gap 1-0, but both teams were loose, maybe a little to loose. We did better when there was pressure on us.”

Bulldogs win district tiebreaker

BRIDGEWATER — All though Buffalo Gap stormed out to a 4-0 lead, the Bison couldn’t hold on as Luray won the Shenandoah District tournament playoff game 6-5 Friday night.
The exciting loss sent Buffalo Gap into Monday’s tournament semifinals against Wilson Memorial. The game will be held at Harrisonburg High School at 7 p.m.
A walk to the Bison’s Ryan Sheridan got the Gap rally started in the top of the second. With one out, back-to-back doubles by Austin Bowers and J.R. Hart brought in two runs. The Bison scored twice more courtesy of a pair of infield errors by the Bulldogs.
