ALEXANDRIA — A former U.S. diplomat has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in a case that also included allegations of pressuring visa applicants for sex.
Forty-two-year-old Gons Nachman, who has addresses in Alexandria and Washington, entered a plea bargain Thursday at federal court in Alexandria.
Nachman admitted having sexual relationships with girls as young as 14 while serving as a consular officer in Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo. He also acknowledged documenting the encounters in pictures and videos.
The plea agreement, however, includes no admission to allegations that Nachman pressured attractive Brazilian visa applicants for sex.
Nachman will be sentenced in July, and faces nine to 11 years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.
