Volunteers needed at Habitat for Humanity

Times are tough ... and money is tight. But if you are looking for a way to help support good organizations – without cash donations,  I would encourage you to volunteer your gift of service.

At the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity ReStore (a thrift store for building supplies and home furnishings) help is needed especially during the store hours from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers with good people skills are needed to help customers and shelve and prepare items for the store. Volunteers who can lift 50 pounds and drive are needed to join the “pick-up crew” on Tuesdays and Fridays to gather donations of gently used appliances, shelving, cabinets and building supplies.

To volunteer at the store, or to join the “pick-up crew” to help bring in donations to help Habitat build homes and keep thousands of tons of materials out of land-fills, call Store Manager Keith Hutchens at 886-1944, Ext. 10, or e-mail . For a complete list of acceptable donations, visit http://www.habitatsaw.org.
