To question leaders freedom of freedom

In this financial whirl which our nation is experiencing, it’s proper to ask, “Do not ask what you can do for your country but ask what your country/Congress can do to you”? Assuming that published press reports are accurate, I submit the following:
The federal deficit for the month of July was $1.27 trillion.
At the end of the federal budget year on Sept. 30 the federal deficit is projected to be $1.84 trillion.
Federal tax receipts are down 5.6 percent.
Trustees state that by 2016 Social Security money paid will exceed income.
By 2017, Social Security will be insolvent.
And the litany goes on while bank failures and lost jobs and homes continue. Recently, our government announced a $200 million grant to Pakistan. However, the government did not have $200 million to provide added security to the guards on the Texas-Mexico border to minimize drug smuggling into this country by Mexican drug lords who reportedly are getting stronger.
True, the government cannot solve all of our problems, but it remains, “Do not ask what you can do for your country but ask what your country/Congress is doing to you.”
