Stuff the Bus event a great success

On Aug. 7 and 8, the 2009 Stuff the Bus event was held to secure school supplies for children in Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta County. The event was a huge success.

The citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County, as well as those visiting the area, rallied for the cause, donating volumes of needed supplies. You donated 627 boxes of crayons; 408 boxes of tissues; 8,410 pencils; 2,203 spiral notebooks; 4,660 pens; 474 bottles of glue; 1,140 glue sticks; 2,680 erasers; 6,588 colored pencils; 229 bottles of germicidal gel; 164 backpacks; and 99,000 sheets of notebook paper, as well as hundreds of other items.
