Sports fans say thanks for the memories

I would like to express sincerest thanks to The News Virginian sports staff. They did an amazing job of providing great coverage of the R.E. Lee girls basketball team’s run through the state playoffs. We came up short in the quest for the championship but we’re looking forward to next year. In particular, Jim Sacco did terrific in-depth and human interest stories on the girls, the coach and the journey. The photos were awesome. We have filled scrapbooks for ourselves, friends and family. Your staff helped stir interest in the community and provided keep-sake memories.
