Offer of thanks to Waynesboro voters
Published: May 21, 2008
Having reached the end of a long campaign, I wanted to take a moment to give thanks to a number of people.
First and foremost, I want to thank the voters of Waynesboro for their support and for coming out and voting. As I have always said, I am a supporter of all the people, and I am very humbled by your support at the polls.
I’d also like to thank everyone who worked with me during this campaign. I knew that the only way we could win this election was by one person asking another for their vote, and so many of you volunteered to help me ask.
Finally, I wish to thank my fellow candidates, Jeremy Taylor and DuBose Egleston. They showed their love for the city in their willingness to serve and their passionate advocacy on the issues. It is this sort of debate that informs the citizens and gets the issues out on the table so that we can address them in the best possible way.
I sincerely hope that Jeremy and DuBose will continue their dedication to making Waynesboro a better place.
Frank Lucente
Waynesboro
Editor’s note: Lucente, the at-large council incumbent, defeated Taylor and Egleston in the May 6 election, capturing more than 60 percent of the vote.
