Liberals belie own fears with attacks
Published: July 26, 2009
An editorial piece by the Richmond Times-Dispatch published July 20 in The News Virginian (“Plumber’s point pertinent”) reminds me of a liberal tactic that is being repeated today.
When “Joe the Plumber” had the nerve to ask Obama a sensitive question in a public forum, one that Obama could not answer truthfully, a media in love with Obama began to do all they could to turn public opinion against the man. We can understand why. The Obama White House does not do well under the bright light of the truth.
Now, continuing the tradition of bashing anyone who represents a threat to the liberal agenda, in the same edition of The News Virginian, syndicated columnist Gene Lyons continues the liberal attack on Sarah Palin (“Welcome to Idiot America”) Why all the media effort to bash Sarah Palin?
From my perspective, she has two chances to be the Republican candidate for president in 2012, slim and none. Surely the liberal media know this. So why the unrelenting attacks? Could it be that she simply represents an American voice that liberals fear? Ask yourself, what might Sarah Palin represent that makes the liberals so very afraid?

Charles I don’t think liberals fear Sarah Palin or are making a tactical effort to smear her. I think Sarah Palin is newsworthy as she’s a personality who for some reason thinks she has credibility in the political arena. I know the more I see her and listen to her, the less credible she becomes.
This is not some partisan conspiracy here.
Could one please tell me who Sarah Palin is.
“From my perspective, she has two chances to be the Republican nominee fo president in 2012, slim and none.“
Why all this Palin-bashing, Charles? What is it that conservatives fear about Sarah Palin? Why all these attacks? Ask yourself, Charles, what might Sarah Palin represent that makes conservatives like you so afraid?
