Family offers thanks to Eagle’s Nest Airport

The weather forecast for the 14th was not great. There was a chance of rain and cloudy skies, but by Saturday morning, things looked brighter.

If you were in Waynesboro at about 11 a.m., you could hear the roar of four airplanes and see their formation doing a flyover tribute during the funeral for my brother Charlie Sensabaugh. It was a beautiful sight!

This flyover was the biggest wish of my sister Pauline and was made possible by the great people of Eagle’s Nest Airport. Without a moment’s hesitation, John Trissel made the arrangements. He was the lead pilot, followed by Graham Pitsenberger, who was the break-away pilot, then David VanClief and Dr. Alan White.

My brother, a pilot himself, also worked at Eagle’s Nest for many years prior to his retirement. This flyover tribute to Charlie helped turn some of our tears into smiles.

On behalf of family and friends, we thank and salute you!
