City’s generosity speaks volumes

I am writing to thank you, The News Virginian, Bob Stuart and the people of Waynesboro and vicinity for the tremendous response we have received in the request for shoes for the ladies in Kenya (“In their shoes,” June 29).

Bob Stuart wrote a great article, with a picture, about the need for these shoes. It was published on the front page of The News Virginian and the response from the people of this area has been super. We have received about 3,500 pairs of shoes, to date, to be shipped to Kenya.

This response, to me, says something good about your paper, the article and the people of this area.

The people of Waynesboro are noted for their response and generosity for worthy causes. It is a great place to live.
