Caring for mom, keeping the faith

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

My mom suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia. She is in Crossroads Extended Care in Fishersville. She will be moving to another nursing home soon.

The nurses take such good care of their patients. When they want a drink, food, etc., they will go and get them something. They fix the patients’ hair. We are blessed to have nurses as good and caring as they are.

My mom had a really hard life when we were growing up. She carried water from grandma’s to cook with. She got water from the creek to wash clothes in a ringer wash machine on an old front porch.

My mom is a wonderful mom and I’m so proud of her and I love her with all my heart. Just say a prayer that God will put her in another nursing home. I know it is in God’s hands and we have to have faith.
