Campaigning, not serving, Saxman’s focus

The citizens of the 20th District have a delegate who did not spend all of his time at the General Assembly working for us. He was down in South Carolina working for John McCain. How many important votes did Chris Saxman miss?
For someone who brags about being the cost-cutting delegate – why are all of the state agencies spending millions of dollars from their budgets before July 1? So the money isn’t turned back into the general fund? State spending should have been frozen!
Why were all the prisons built at a $1 million each? This was money that could have been spent on our roads and bridges. So, now another prison has to be closed down – hope it’s not Augusta Correctional Center or Greenville (Camp 10).
To save money, stop all the state vehicles driven back and forth to work. Also, look at the way the agency has to purchase goods. Let them buy local instead of through a broken enterprise system.
The lottery has helped the education system – more than $340 million each year.
Maybe it’s time for Virginia to allow riverboat gambling and a horse track, like in Charlestown – and place this money into transportation.
Let’s see some action on these issues, instead of lip service.
