Barack Obama will get us on right path

Some people favor John McCain for president because he has a reputation for “straight talk” and for being a maverick. Those are appealing qualities but they don’t change one unappealing aspect of his candidacy. He’s a Republican and it is the Republicans who got us where we are now. If you think we are doing fine, and that America has (as President Bush said while in China) “no problem,” then by all means vote for McCain.
I think we are on the wrong path, that we are captive to big-money lobbyists and that we have fallen into terribly flawed ways of making our decisions. Barack Obama speaks about changing these things. Our system is so corrupt, it’s hard to believe anybody can fix it. But if anybody can, Obama can – with our help. I believe we must elect him and then get behind his effort.
That’s why I supported him in the primary and I support him now.
