Wayne Theatre's future precarious

On Nov. 3, you published the headline, "Wayne Theatre could be reopened."

The citizens of Waynesboro reject this, as many of the financial figures have been wrong. For instance, $1 million over 10 years depends on future members of City Council and the mayor, who must run for re-election in the future.

Lucente, Williams: Fiscally responsible

The Nov. 9 editorial in The News Virginian ("Voters hit mark on city projects") refers to Frank Lucente and Tim Williams as "penny-pinchers." A more accurate description would be "fiscally responsible council members." We can only hope they stay in the race and curb the irresponsible spending of the other council members.
