Sabato: Dems will win big

Political analyst Larry Sabato predicts a big day for Democrats across the country with Barack Obama getting the nod over Republican John McCain in the White House race. He also predicts Obama will win Virginia and Mark Warner will beat Jim Gilmore for the U.S. Senate.

Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, issued his final predictions for the 2008 election on his Crystal Ball Web site, and gave Obama a 364-174 edge over McCain in the Electoral College vote.

He also forecasts sizable pick-ups for Democrats in both houses of Congress.
