His main targets involved buildings with food, but they weren’t enough to satisfy the habitual burglar’s taste for breaking and entering, authorities said.

Deputies with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday arrested Michael Wayne Fridley, 32, of Mount Solon, on charges of he broke into nine businesses where they said he snatched hundreds of dollars.

An Augusta County grand jury indicted Fridley on Monday.

Between July 10 and Aug. 4, Fridley broke into Valley Vocational Center, the Mount Solon Post Office, Rackem Smackem Ribs, Sam’s Hot Dog Stand, Fort Defiance Medical Center and three grocery stores, according to court records.

Fridley faces 10 breaking and entering charges, six larceny charges and a charge of destroying property.

Fridley was convicted of similar charges in 1997, 1999 and 2000. He was sentenced to three years of jail time for the crimes he committed in 2000, according to court records.

If convicted on the new charges, a judge could impose previously suspended time from other convictions.

Fridley’s trial is scheduled for Jan. 25 in Augusta County Circuit Court.
