Authorities have charged a Waynesboro man with raping a preteen girl.
The girl told authorities that David Harrison Cave, 45, assaulted her between September and November, police said. He is free on bond after turning himself in to police last week.
Authorities charged Cave twice in 2007 with assault and battery charges, the second time for shaking a 1-year-old infant, according to court records. Both charges were dismissed.
Since 2007 Cave twice has been convicted of public intoxication and one count of driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to court records.
Waynesboro police Sgt. Kelly Walker said officers responded to Cave’s address 14 times in the past 23 months on a wide range of calls, for domestic assault, intoxication, warrant service and suspicious persons.

And how much was his bond? The paper omitted this fact. And youre right, how was he able to make it? Lets HOPE nothing happens while he’s out.
I can’t believe they allowed bond low enough that this guy is out already!!!! This guy is a menace on so many levels! No wonder he keeps committing crimes—he gets away with everything he does.
This guy is free on bond???? What kind of system is that with all he has done to be free on bond??
