Bruce Allen, a candidate for the Ward B seat on the Waynesboro City Council, is expected to make what he is calling “an extremely important announcement” at a May 1 press conference in front of the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building.
The announcement will take place at 10 a.m.
On Monday, Allen, along with At-large councilman Frank Lucente and Ward A councilman Tim Williams, received the endorsement of the United Workers Local 381 of the Brotherhood of DuPont Workers.
Allen also held a fundraiser last week with two Republicans, former state delegate Paul Harris, who is considering a run for state attorney general, and Scott Sayre, who lost to District 24 Sen. Emmett Hanger. Harris was the keynote speaker at the Allen fundraiser.
