Woman killed in single-car accident

An unidentified white female was killed when the car she was driving went off the side of an isolated gravel road near Buffalo Gap on Friday, State Police said.
The accident occurred on Old Parkersburg Turnpike, 3.2 miles north of Route 42 near Buffalo Gap. The 1987 four-door, maroon BMW veered off the right side of the road, police said, 150 feet down an embankment and hit a tree.
State Police said they did not know the cause of the wreck or the time it occurred. Police said they received a call at 12:30 p.m. from a passing motorists who saw the vehicle.
The body was taken to Augusta Medical Center.
