Rice slapped with additional jail time
A Maryland man convicted of trying to abduct a woman in the Shenandoah National Park will spend more time in jail after admitting to using drugs.
U.S. District Judge Norman K. Moon sentenced Darrell David Rice this morning to nine months of incarceration, two years of supervised release and two years of GPS monitoring.
Rice, 41, told his probation officer that he had used marijuana a few times and watched pornography on a premium cable channel. Since his release from prison, Rice has been living with his mother and working for an emissions firm that does work for Maryland.
“I am sorry about the drug use,” Rice said in court.
Rice, who has served 18 days in jail so far, has been held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
