Staunton
n Staunton police arrested Richard Lee Steppe, 30, of Staunton, Tuesday on a charge he abducted a 19-year-old woman against her will, said Staunton police Officer Lisa Klein.
The victim was staying with her mother just outside Verona when she went to get some items from Steppe’s house, Klein said. The victim was assaulted and not permitted to leave Steppe’s home, police said.
Steppe is in custody at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.
