Augusta County

n Authorities charged a Stuarts Draft man Wednesday for an alleged assault of the mother of his child. Christopher B. Cooper, 22, met the woman July 25 for a child visitation, during which he threw her to the ground and kicked her once in the side, Augusta County authorities said.
The woman suffered a broken hand, sprained toe, cuts and bruises, leading to a charge of felonious assault against Cooper. He remains in custody at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.
