Slade Woodson, 19, of Batesville, Albermarle County, was being sought as a person of interest in the Interstate 64 and Waynesboro shootings, according to police scanner reports and a Waynesboro woman whose home was hit by bullets.

Waynesboro police detectives showed Jill Tice, 43, a picture of Woodson, a high school friend of her son's. She also told police she had recently seen Woodson driving an AMC Gremlin that matches the description of the vehicle caught on a urveillance camera in connection with a shooting incident at the DuPont Community Credit Union early Thursday morning.

Two bullets were fired into Tice's North Commerce Avenue home around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Two people suffered minor injuries in a string of early-morning shootings Thursday on Interstate 64. No one was injured in either of the Waynesboro incidents.

Police found an abandoned AMC Gremlin on U.S. 29 later Thursday afternoon, but have not released information about its owner.
