Honduran man gets 6 years for cocaine charges
A Honduran man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Waynesboro Circuit Court to bringing drugs across the Virginia border from Texas.
Judge Humes J. Franklin Jr. sentenced Matias Murrillo Lincoln, 44, of Fort Worth, Texas, to six years in prison for transporting, possessing and manufacturing cocaine.
Authorities caught Lincoln on May 21 with Yvonne Gutierrez, 27, at Comfort Inn near Interstate 64 in Waynesboro with a suitcase containing a cereal box holding more than eight ounces of powder cocaine.
“He said he’d lost his job and was doing this for money,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Charles Ajemian said.
Lincoln admitted in court to being an illegal immigrant.
Transportation of more than 1 ounce of cocaine into Virginia carries a three-year minimum sentence.
After being tipped by an informant, the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement task force – including officers from Charlottesville and Albemarle County – set up a sting to catch Lincoln and Gutierrez.
The informant spoke with Lincoln by phone, Ajemian said in court Tuesday. They also set up times and places to meet, he said.
Gutierrez also pleaded guilty to cocaine possession in July, and awaits a Jan. 11 sentencing hearing.

Yep, another “undocumented worker” just coming to the USA to support his family. Gotta give them health care and govt assistance.
Gotta love the socialist viewpoint.
Felix Christopher Gutierrez, 31 &Yvonne;Gutierrez, 27, any relation to each other ? can it be we have a major drug conspiracy going on here ? or is this just a coincidence ?
Ok Judge I handle this one, Six years on a work camp in the middle of nowhere, no tv, no radio, no law library, no weights, bread & water for breakfast, lunch, Dinner he can have 4 oz of protein, veggies, and water, then immediate deportation in a row boat with a map back to Honduraswhen his sentence is done, if he deviates from the map he is shot.
