The Wayne Theatre Alliance has received a $500 “Agency Hands in the Community” grant from the Allstate Foundation.

“I believe that having the reopened Wayne will bring new faces and businesses to downtown Waynesboro, and that’s a good thing for the city,“ said Allstate Agent Leonard H. Lynch in a statement.

The Allstate Foundation grant recognizes the efforts of qualified agents who volunteer in their communities.

“The Wayne means business - new business for the whole community,“ said WTA Vice Chair Mason Hulen in a statement. “Businessmen like Allstate have the vision to see what the revitalization of the Wayne will mean to the whole downtown community.  His vision [Lynch], and others like him, will see to it that this project gets done.“

Bravo!  Let’s hope this trend continues so the revitalized Wayne can help spur downtown development, increase foot traffic and bring enjoyment to our fair city.
