Police reported discovery a dead man’s body, found at about 12:20 p.m. Friday in Riverview Cemetery.

Authorities await an autopsy report, but have labelled the death an apparent suicide.

The body was found on the Thirteenth Street side of the cemetery by another man unrelated to the victim, Sgt. Kelly Walker said.

Police declined to identify the man.

Hello,
This is “wife” again.  Mr. Brewer I did I not feel that your last comment was inappropriate, I understood what you meant by using the word “trivial.“ I also felt “trivial” within myself during this difficult time for our famlily.  We will contiue to welcome and appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for your kind words and I am glad that he brought you a comforting dream,  I know that he will do the same for me.
My husband was a kind, gentle and caring man….. he also knew the definition of “trivial.“
Grateful Wife,
Marsha Kestner Felici

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I was using trivial not to mean little importance however from the Latin root meaning crossroads of life. Please be assured that I will be leaving no more comments as they are being misconstrued to be something they are not meant to be viewed as.

I will continue to pray for the family.

Mr. Brewer,
Do you read what you write before you click the “send” button?
NOTHING this family is going through is “trivial”.
I, probably along with many others, suggest that you just keep quiet from here on out. This family has gone through enough without you adding your unkind words.
It’s very sad that the family finds it even remotely necessary to defend themselves and apologize to you for their loved one “making you mad….“ and “haunting” you. How ridiculous!
Thank you to the News Virginian for not going into further detail.
Again - our prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Wife,

Please know that I have been praying for you and your family, even though I do not know who are you. I know that God is surrounding your family with his love and grace to help your family through this trivial situation. Please know that your family will continue to be lifted in my prayers and that I feel the deepest burden that the loss of your husband has placed on your family.

I had a dream last night about your husband. In my dream your husband was in heaven with a smile on his face and all the pain from life was lifted from his spirit and cast away.

Again, my deepest sympathy, and I will continue to hold your family in my prayers.

If you were to look at this situation from a family perspective, somes things that were said in your comments were not very thoughtful. The way the headline read was true, my huband was found dead in the cemetery yesterday afternoon.
Thanks for the kind remarks of the other comments, it means a lot to our family, we have had quite a rough couple of years.  Our continued community supports means the world to us. Thanks again to those who show care and concern for our family, friends and situation.
My deepest apologies to the family of the other funeral that occured that day.
Sincerely and with much love,
Wife of man found in cemetery

Ralph Brewer

I was also at the scene and may have been the first on to notify someone. however I might be wrong.

I was attending the funeral and agree that both families need time to heal. However I am also very curious about the identity of this man.

There are questions that I feel I need answered but not at the expense of others.  Others Young and Old.

Soon2bfree

If you are supposed to know more about this then you will in time. Don’t forget that these are real people not just words on a page.

dbhutton & soon2bfree:

What is wrong with you two?

Are these type of comments really acceptable?

While you may not know the circumstances surrouding them, ignorance is no excuse.  You have to know that somewhere out there this man’s family & friends are left behind to grieve & should be able to do so without reading your garbage & bad puns.

This family has touched the majority of our community over the last 2 years.  None of whom find any of soon2bfree’s bad puns or db’s amusement of the title funny.

It sickens me to think human beings can find anything humorous surrounding another’s death.

I am begging you, please remove this before anyone else especially the family has to see it.

You’ve got to admit that “Dead Body Found in Cemetery” is a great headline.

Why would you then post your name here Ralph? Obviously this man was in a great deal of pain and anguish. Perhaps it was awful to see, but for someone to do that one can only imagine the amount of suffering they were enduring.

Everyone, please give the family time to mourne.
