Sharing the news
Sixteen separate newspapers have published in Waynesboro since 1871. Early papers included the Augusta News, published in 1871 by John H. Eiser, the Augusta News, published in 1875 by a different owner, the Waynesboro Weekly Tribune in 1877, the South River Advertiser in 1880 and the Free Press and Messenger in 1883.

The shortest Scripture
We learned in Bible School that the shortest verse in the Bible is “Jesus wept” (John 11:35). Tears are the non-verbal language of the universal experience of grief. Jesus said that grieving is God’s way of comforting those who acknowledge their losses (Mt. 5:4).
