Basic United Methodist Church, 489 N. Winchester Ave., corner of Delphine and Fifth Street, Waynesboro, the Rev. Don Gibson — This week’s schedule is as follows:

Bethany Lutheran Church, 100 Maple Ave., Waynesboro, Pastor Timothy Bohlmann — Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m., allowing children and adults to participate together in an opening and then break into groups based on age for further Bible study and activities. Traditional worship is at 8:30 a.m. and contemporary worship is at 11 a.m. Nursery services will be available all morning.
Other ministry areas include Christ Care Small Group ministry, music ministry, with handbells and choir, and a senior ministry, which meets each Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Bible study. The church also offers a variety of activities for middle school and high school youth.

Born Again Pentecostal Church, 172 Little Church Lane, Madison – A revival will be held at the church, with Evangelist Troy Shifflett, from Dibble, Okla.
Services will be June 23-29, Monday through Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. nightly, and Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
There will be a homecoming meal after the morning service.
Central Baptist Church, 261 Bookerdale Rd., Waynesboro, the Rev. Josh Shiflett – The church will hold worship services at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Rev. Josh Shiflett will deliver the message. Heather (Berry) Mabe and her husband Tony will sing during the three service times.
Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Prayer and Bible study will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Central Baptist Church is an old-fashioned, independent church that uses only the King James version of the Bible.

First Presbyterian Church, 11th Street and Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, the Rev. Glen Holman — A service will begin at 8:30 a.m., with communion served. Praise and worship is at 9:30 a.m. and traditional worship is at 11 a.m. The Rev. Glen Holman will deliver the message, “A Grateful Heart,” with 2 Kings 5:1-3, 9-15 serving as the text.
The summer program begins, with the children all beginning the worship service with their parents and then being dismissed for their sessions.
On Thursday at 7 a.m., the men’s Bible study group will meet at the church fellowship hall to discuss the Book of Romans. Women’s Bible study meets at the church at 1:30 p.m. to study Bible references to prayer. Newcomers are welcomed. The food bank opens at 9 a.m. this week.

Fishersville Baptist Church, 1518 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, Pastor John Hamric – The church begins their new summer schedule this Sunday. Summer hours will be in effect through August 31. Sunday school begins at 9 a.m., for all ages. Sunday services will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The following will take place on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.: Adult Bible study and Set Apart Youth. Choir rehearsal begins at 7:30 p.m.
Chris Lee will be in concert on Saturday, June 7, at 7 p.m. Lee is a contemporary Christian sensation from Nashville, Tenn. The Coachmen Quartet will be in concert on June 15 at 6:30 p.m. Both concerts will receive a love offering.
All senior citizens are invited to join the congregation for Senior Celebrations on June 29 at 10:30 a.m.
The Y.E.S.! Choir and the Stuarts Draft Baptist Choir will present “Bound for Glory” on June 22, at 7 p.m. at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church and on June 29, at 10:30 a.m., at Fishersville Baptist Church.
Children who have completed the first through the sixth grades are invited to join the congregation for Son World Vacation Bible School Sunday through Friday, July 13-18, at 6 p.m. each night. Fishersville United Methodist Church, 1600 Jefferson Highway, across from the post office, Fishersville, the Rev. Roy P. White – Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., including 10 adult Sunday school classes.
An informal worship service will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a traditional service starting at 11 a.m.

Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1614 West Beverley St., Staunton – The church will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday to benefit a Youth Mission Trip to Romney, W.Va. The dinner will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the church. Cost for the meal will be $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-10. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, coffee, water and tea. Take out orders will be available. Call 886-1176 on the day of the supper.
Mountain View Church of Afton – The church will host a Community Gospel Sing on Saturday at 6 p.m. Various churches will be represented. A fellowship breakfast will take place Sunday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The menu will consist of scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, mixed fruit, bagles, donuts, biscuits, coffee and orange juice. The breakfast will be sponsored by the adult Bible class.

Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, New Hope – Former Members’ Day will be observed on June 25 at the church, which is located in New Hope. Beginning at 1 p.m., The Gospel Inspirations and other talented singers will present the program of sacred music. Dinner will be served immediately following the program. All are welcome. Powerhouse Faith Ministries will hold a pre-anniversary service for Pastor Sylvia Spears on Sunday at 4 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Lucy Hughes from Round Hill Methodist Church. Powerhouse Faith Ministries is located at 158 Montrose Drive in Fishersville.
Rockfish Valley Baptist Church, 3395 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford, Pastor James Lundy – Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. The morning worship service begins at 11 a.m., with an evening service at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, at 6 p.m., Bible study will be held. Choir practice will begin at 7 p.m.
Vacation Bible School will be held Sunday through June 13, from 6-8:30 p.m. There will be classes for ages 2 to adults. Come and learn about what the Lord has to say and have fun, too. There will be crafts, games, food and fun.

Second Presbyterian Church, 133 N. Delphine Ave., Waynesboro, The Rev. Dr. John L. McDonald — Sunday school classes meet from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. This Sunday, the pre-school and Kids’ Journeys in Faith class will study “The Great Commission.” The Thoughtful Sunday school class will study faith issues.
The worship service will be from 11 a.m. to noon. For the next ten weeks, the Rev. Dr. John L. McDonald will deliver sermons on “The Ten Commandments.”
On Monday, Busi-Seniors will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Disciple’s Kitchen will serve on a new day, Mondays, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. On Tuesday, Disciples’ Kitchen will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with First Presbyterian Church serving. Leadership night will begin at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, the Mary Baker Quilters will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The adult choir will not meet again until Sept. 3. On Thursday, Disciples’ Kitchen will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with Waynesboro Church of the Brethren serving. On Saturday, the Mary-Martha Circle will meet.
Vacation Bible School will take place June 22-27. On July 13, the church will host a picnic. From July 13-18, the Summerlee Work Project will happen in West Virginia.
On the third Wednesday of each month, the food pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. On the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, Mary Baker Quilters will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Disciples’ Kitchen is held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. each evening, a high-flying adventure will provide children a sky view of God’s power and Jesus’ love at the year’s “Lift Off – Soaring to New Heights with God” Vacation Bible School. Your sky scouts will discover four flight plans that will help them soar to new heights with God: I will follow, I will trust, I will listen and I will serve.

Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1700 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro, Pastor Will Johns — This Saturday, Sabbath school is at 9:30 a.m., with Bible study classes geared specifically for children from birth through age 18. The Waynesboro Union Male Chorus will sponsor a building fund program at the Union Baptist Church, located on East Main Street, on Saturday, June 21, at 5 p.m.
The program will include Mr. Franklin Woodson, Mrs. Arlette Woodson and the Gospel Inspirations as special guests. Also, the Waynesboro Union Male Chorus will present a mini concert. Everyone is invited to attend.
St. Johns Episcopal Church, located at 473 S. Wayne Ave., will host a Taste of New Orleans dinner on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Join the church for an evening of great food, fellowship and music. Proceeds will benefit the Diocesan Youth Mission Trip to New Orleans and J2A Pilgrimage to Alabama. Laissez les bon temps roulez!
The cost will be $15 per person and $40 for a family of four or more. The menu will include crawfish etoufee, red beans and rice, chicken and sausage gumbo and bread pudding with rum sauce.
