Basic United Methodist Church, 489 N. Winchester Ave., corner of Delphine and Fifth Street, Waynesboro, the Rev. Don Gibson — This week’s schedule is as follows:
Sunday: 9:30 a.m. – children’s choir practice; 9:45 a.m. – church school; 11 a.m. – morning worship; 6 p.m. – Hispanic worship service; and 6 p.m. – UM Youth Fellowship.

Bethany Lutheran Church, 100 Maple Ave., Waynesboro, Pastor Timothy Bohlmann — Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m., allowing children and adults to participate together in an opening and then break into groups based on age for further Bible study and activities. Traditional worship is at 8:30 a.m. and contemporary worship is at 11 a.m. Nursery services will be available all morning.
Other ministry areas include Christ Care Small Group ministry, music ministry, with handbells and choir, and a senior ministry, which meets each Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Bible study. The church also offers a variety of activities for middle school and high school youth.

Bible Truth Church, 16 Draft Ave., Stuarts Draft – The congregation welcomes all to an open house on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. This will be a time for anyone in the community to come out and learn about the church’s history, congregate with the members, get to know church leaders, as well as learn about the goodness of the Lord! The church will be having free food and drinks for all who attend and there will be door prizes given away. Born Again Pentecostal Church, 172 Little Church Lane, Madison – A revival will be held at the church, with Evangelist Troy Shifflett, from Dibble, Okla.
Services will be June 23-29, Monday through Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. nightly, and Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
There will be a homecoming meal after the morning service.
Calvary Baptist Church, 68 Benz Road, Waynesboro, Pastor W.T. Cole and Associate Pastor Joey Locklear – Sunday school classes begin at 9:45 a.m., with an 11 a.m. worship service led by Pastor Cole. Children’s church will be provided during the morning service. An evening service will begin at 6 p.m., led by Associate Pastor Locklear. Nursery care will be available during both services.
A Wednesday Bible study and prayer meeting will take place at 7 p.m., with Brian Read.
Children’s programs will be held during both the Sunday and Wednesday evening services.
First Presbyterian Church, 100 East Frederick St., Staunton, Dr. Richard S. Dietrich — Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. Worship will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Paul O’Gorek will deliver the message “Taming Shame,” based on the Bible text Romans 1:16-17.
Vacation Bible School will take place June 22-26 from 5:45-8 p.m.
Bible study will resume in the fall.

First Presbyterian Church, 11th Street and Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, the Rev. Glen Holman — A service will begin at 8:30 a.m., with communion served. Praise and worship is at 9:30 a.m. and traditional worship is at 11 a.m. The Rev. Glen Holman will deliver the message, “What Shall I Do For You?,” with 2 Kings 4:1-7 serving as the text.
The summer program begins, with the children all beginning the worship service with their parents and then being dismissed for their classes.
On Thursday at 7 a.m., the men’s Bible study group will meet at the church fellowship hall to discuss the Book of Romans. Women’s Bible study meets at the church at 1:30 p.m. to study Bible references to prayer. Newcomers are welcomed. The food bank is not open this week.

Fishersville Baptist Church, 1518 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, Pastor John Hamric – Sunday school begins at 9:40 a.m., for all ages. Sunday services will be held at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Summer hours will be in effect from June 1 to August 31 and will be as follows: Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. Worship services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The following will take place on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.: Adult Bible study, TeamKid (ages 3 through the fifth grade) and Set Apart Youth. Choir rehearsal begins at 7:30 p.m.

Fishersville United Methodist Church, 1600 Jefferson Highway, across from the post office, Fishersville, the Rev. Roy P. White – Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., including 10 adult Sunday school classes.
An informal worship service will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a traditional service starting at 11 a.m.
The pastor will deliver the message, “Something Old, Something New,” based on the Bible text Deuteronomy 11:18-21, 26-28 and Matthew 7:21-29.
As part of the church’s 150th anniversary celebration, they will have a renewal of marriage vows during the 11 a.m. service.

Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1614 West Beverley Street, Staunton – The church will host a spaghetti dinner on June 7 to benefit a Youth Mission Trip to Romney, W.Va. The dinner will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the church. Cost for the meal will be $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-10. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, coffee, water and tea. Take out orders will be available. Call 886-1176 on the day of the supper.
Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, New Hope – Former Members’ Day will be observed on June 25 at the church, which is located in New Hope. Beginning at 1 p.m., The Gospel Inspirations and other talented singers will present the program of sacred music. Dinner will be served immediately following the program. All are welcome. The Reverend Lucy Jackson Hughes is church pastor.
Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 1862 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro – The church will have their semi-annual breakfast, bake sale and yard sale on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The breakfast menu will include a sausage biscuit for $1.25, a sausage and egg biscuit for $1.50 and a tenderloin and gravy biscuit for $2. Ridgeview Baptist Church, 124 Ridgeview Drive, Stuarts Draft, Pastor Don McClure – Sunday school, for all ages, begins at 10 a.m. The worship service begins at 11 a.m.
At 6 p.m., on Sunday, studies will be held for men, women, students and adults on financial issues, being apostles and discovering God.
At 7 p.m., the Wednesday Bible study and prayer meeting, for all ages, will begin.

Rockfish Valley Baptist Church, 3395 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford, Pastor James Lundy – Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. The morning worship service begins at 11 a.m., with an evening service at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, at 6 p.m., Bible study will be held.
Vacation Bible School will be held starting June 8-13. There will be classes for ages 2 to adults. Come and learn about what the Lord has to say and have fun, too. Rockfish Presbyterian Church, Nellysford, the Rev. David Cameron – The church will have a new schedule beginning June 1 through Sept. 7. There will be one worship service at 10 a.m. and no Sunday school.

Second Presbyterian Church, 133 N. Delphine Ave., Waynesboro, The Rev. Dr. John L. McDonald — Sunday school classes meet from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. This Sunday, the pre-school and Kids’ Journeys in Faith class will study “Zaccheaus.” The Thoughtful Sunday school class will study faith issues.
The worship service will be from 11 a.m. to noon. For the next ten weeks, the Rev. Dr. John L. McDonald will deliver sermons on “The Ten Commandments.”
On Monday, Smyrna Presbyterian Church will be serving for Disciple’s Kitchen.
On Tuesday, Disciples’ Kitchen will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with Bethany Lutheran Church serving.
The adult choir will not meet again until Sept. 3.
On Thursday, Disciples’ Kitchen will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with First Baptist Church serving.
On Saturday, a men’s prayer breakfast will be held at Shoney’s.
All programs will be held at the church.
Vacation Bible School will take place June 22-27.
On July 13, the church will host a picnic.
From July 13-18, the Summerlee Work Project will happen in West Virginia.
On the third Wednesday of each month, the food pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. On the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, Mary Baker Quilters will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Disciples’ Kitchen is held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Starting June 2, the church will serve on Mondays, as well.

Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church – The church will host Glory Bound Motorcycle Ministry on Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. Park your bike on the front yard. The congregation is going to hang out and do some grilling after the 11 a.m. service.
SherLynd Baptist Church – Set sail for Outrigger Island! It will be a week of nonstop action as you learn how to live God’s unspeakable truth. Explore five Bible truths – God is real; Jesus is God’s Son; Jesus is the only way; the Bible is God’s Word; and your actions show what you believe. By the end of the week you will have learned what it means to know, speak and live the truth.

Southside Church of God, 35 First Street, Staunton, Pastor Phillip Morgan – Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m. The morning worship service is at 10:45 a.m. and the evening service begins at 6 p.m.
A worship service will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Vacation Bible School will be June 22-26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The theme will be “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.” Activities will include music, crafts, snacks and lots of fun.

Springdale Mennonite Church, 170 Hall School Road, Waynesboro – The church invites the children of the community to Summer Bible School from June 15-19. A light supper will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by an evening of “Power Lab” Bible School beginning at 6:15 p.m. Children in pre-school through the fifth grade are welcome to attend. St. James Baptist Church, 1094 Albemarle Ave., Waynesboro, Pastor A.T. Crawley – Sunday school is held each Sunday, beginning at 9:45 a.m. Children’s church starts at 10 a.m., with breakfast, followed by learning activities.
Regular worship is at 11 a.m.
Christian Growth class is each Wednesday from 6-7 p.m.
Intercessory Prayer Service is held each 2nd and 4th Friday, from 6-7 p.m.
The church will celebrate its 91st anniversary on June 8, at 3 p.m.

Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, 30 Tinkling Spring Drive, Fishersville – Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. Worship is at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Nursery care is provided for both services and Sunday school. The church is handicapped accessible.
Beginning June 15, the 8:30 a.m. service will be held in the pavilion, weather permitting.
This Sunday, both services will recognize the faithful ministry of Shawn Hevener, ministry assistant. At the 11 a.m. service, graduating high school seniors will be recognized. After the 11 a.m. service, there will be a covered dish luncheon.

Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 364 Bridge Ave., Waynesboro, Pastor Edward L. Carl – The church will begin its summer schedule with worship at 9:30 a.m., which continues through July and August.
This Sunday, Pastor Ed Carl will continue the series “The Church You Always Longed For,” with the second sermon in the series, “Capturing the Heart of the Community.” The sermon will be based on the Bible text Acts 2:42-48 and 5:12-16. The congregation will also honor its high school and college graduates during the service. They will also be honored with a reception following the morning worship service.

Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1700 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro, Pastor Will Johns — This Saturday, Sabbath school is at 9:30 a.m., with Bible study classes geared specifically for children from birth through age 18. There are also several adult classes available, which are currently studying the topic of “The Wonder of Jesus.”
The main worship service is at 10:50 a.m. and includes time for singing, prayer and a Bible message from the pastor. All are welcome.
Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist is hosting a Financial Peace Seminar as a service to the community. Classes are held every Sunday, through June 1, at 3 p.m. This Sunday’s class will be the last.

Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren will host the First Annual Benefit Concert for the Faith Primary School on Saturday. Special guests will include Susan and Debbie Sandridge of “Only Grace,” providing music from 4-6 p.m. From 6-7 p.m., Global Puppet Ministries will present a puppet show. Starting at 7 p.m., Glen Shelton and Smokey Wilson; and the Dan Keeton Quartet (formerly of the Dixie Melody Boys) will perform. Food and drinks will be available. Other activities will include crafts and face painting. T-shirts and CDs will also be available.

The Christian Friends Caring for Needs annual yard and bake sale will be held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 521 Rosser Ave. in Waynesboro. For sale will be a 1989 Celebrity, furniture, electronics and much more. Rain will cancel this event.
The Union Baptist Church of Afton will host a gospel concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event will feature radio and television recording artists, The Love of God Singers.
Camping for Christ will be held at Walnut Hills Campground in Staunton on June 6-8. The event will be held from 6-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and from 9-10 a.m. on Sunday morning. Camping for Christ will feature contemporary music and guest speakers.
