Metallica, which just picked up another Grammy Award last month, will be bringing its World Magnetic Tour to Charlottesville on Oct. 17 for a concert at John Paul Jones Arena.
The band has been selling out tour dates across the country and around the world since releasing the CD “Death Magnetic” last year.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. April 11 - just a week after the band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - and will be $71.50 and $51.50. A portion of each ticket price will go to charity.
The show will be presented in the round. Tickets on the floor will be general admission, with the rest being reserved seating.
Metallica has sold 50 million albums and has a variety of projects in the works. The band won its eighth Grammy last month for best metal performance for “My Apocalypse,” from “Death Metallic.”
The Metallica Guitar Hero game is expected to be released this month, and fans can look forward to “The Complete Metallica,” a discography box set filled with 163 tracks.
Tickets can be purchased at the arena’s box office, online at http://www.johnpauljonesarena.com and by phone at (888) 575-8497.
