Memory Walk a success thanks to community
Published: December 6, 2008
As the end of 2008 draws near, the Alzheimer’s Association’s Central and Western Virginia Chapter would like to thank all who made our Memory Walks in Harrisonburg, Luray and Augusta County successes: Bridgewater Retirement Community, Journey’s/Timberview Crossings, Loyalton of Harrisonburg, Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, WHSV, Crossroads Business Magazine, WSIG, WSVA, Baldwin Park and Modern Woodmen of America.
More than 5 million people are living with Alzheimer’s and 78 million baby boomers are approaching the age of greatest risk for the disease. The funds raised from these important events are used for Alzheimer’s care and research. Every contribution brings us one step closer to a cure. The funds raised also help provide local support, education and programs for those living with the disease, their families and caregivers in the mid-Shenandoah Valley region.
Plans are well under way for our 2009 Memory Walks. We welcome new sponsors to join us in our fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
