Liberals in Congress are at fault for AIG bonuses

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

This AIG business is scary, but not for the reason you might think.

Yes, it’s annoying that the men responsible for the risky trading that required government bailout funds to save AIG received millions in bonuses. However, what should REALLY anger you is that the liberals in congress like Barney Frank, who are making all the noise about the bonuses, knew about the bonuses when the bailout funds were given.

They added NOTHING to the bailout agreement to prevent the bailout funds being used for paying bonuses. The liberals who passed this legislation were so hell-bent on getting this legislation passed that they never paid attention to the details. Now, given that the 1,000 pages in the almost $800 billion stimulus package brokered by President Barack Obama could not possibly have actually been read by the men and women who voted for it, we have yet another case where Congress has rammed through Obama’s program without any real effort to be sure they know what they’re doing.

The liberals are making all this fuss about AIG both to cover their own ghastly mistakes and to redirect the public’s attention away from other Obama programs working their way through Congress.

If you are upset about AIG, let your congressman and senator know how you feel about the twin liberal disasters called cap-and-trade and card check.
