Is US ready for the kind of change Obama promises?

The catchword in the present political battle for president is change. Is that good or bad for our country?

We all need to be aware of the long-range effect on our way of life. How ready are we to allow the federal government to control our lives even more? Are we prepared to accept a socialist form of government? How willing are we to accept the ways of France, England, Canada and even Russia? Do you really believe we can benefit by changing our capitalistic state to one of socialism?

This election will have the most serious consequences of any in our lifetime. Since the 1930s, when President Roosevelt and his Cabinet developed a plan to bring us out of the Depression following World War I, we have continued to allow politics to change our governing powers to intrude into our lives. This has resulted in less individual responsibility and more dependence on government. Entitlements expanded with every election. Promises of more and greater handouts have led to increased taxation on the working class, small businesses and the retired who have succeeded in their life’s work.

We are more capable to decide how we want to spend our money than Washington. Until the present, we have been protected by our government structure (executive, legislative and judicial).

This election could very well upset the balance of power by choosing a candidate with socialist tendencies, having a predominantly socialist Congress with powers to influence the selection of our Supreme Court justices.

A little-known liberal candidate with a mystical background and past associates who hate America and openly express this does not appeal to me. His campaign is financed primarily by liberals and far-left radicals who will expect payback if he is elected.

Think about this before you vote. Vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin, a team that will reform the way the government does business.
