Attention must be paid to senators

People, we desperately need a lesson in government and politics. It seems that most Americans think that electing a new president is the answer to all problems. It seems that we think that we live in a dictatorship where the president simply speaks and it shall be done. Wrong! That’s why we need to be educated.
Example. Before the election ... Sally, I’m voting for Bill ’cause he’s gonna do this or Pete, I’m voting for Sue ’cause she’s gonna do this. When will we all learn that the presidency is simply a figurehead position – a symbolic one? When will we truly learn that Congress runs the country? And, might I add, when will we pay more attention to whom we vote into our Congress and forget the presidency ... he has little significance.
If in doubt, please ask any scholar on the subject. People all over the country and the world are laughing at California over Sen. Nancy Pelosi. What a joke! People are laughing at Nevada over Harry Reid. Another “Ha Ha!”
No wonder. They co-authored our stimulus package along with other Democrats. Not to say that Republicans are any better. Remember, they were in control for part of George W. Bush’s two terms.
Have you looked at the proposed stimulus package? I love the part about $400 billion for STDs (condoms). That should stimulate someone (or something), agree? Or the flower garden in Florida for butterflies. Great idea. I feel stupid writing this!
The people who penned the stimulus should be ashamed, embarrassed and disgraced and step down from office! But will they? I’ll give a million to one they won’t!
After 28 years of voting for a president, I did not vote this year and will never again vote until the popular vote and only the popular vote elects our president. The Electoral College has put too many presidents into office. Ask Al Gore.
What Americans all over the USA should be concerned about is whom they send to Congress from their state – or someone may be laughing at you!
