Started with Media General at Danville Register & Bee in 2001 as ad composition/news artist, then promoted to the Reidsville Review and Eden Daily News in 2003 as a copy and features editor, followed by a promotion to features editor at TNV in 2004; where she also worked as a composition artist creating community advertising from 2006 to 2007, before rejoining the newsroom.
