Wilson moves into first

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Wilson Memorial moved into first place in the Shenandoah District beating Luray 1-0.
The Green Hornets now hold onto sole possession of the district’s top-spot but will have to beat Page County today to clinch the Region B berth.
Wilson picked up their lone run in the first inning when Amanda Bradley scored on a passed ball. No one else would cross the plate with Wilson hurler Summer Ramsey giving up just two hits and the Bulldog’s Misty Judd striking out 10.
In the seventh Luray had the tying run on third, with one out, but Ramsey saved the win striking out the next batter and forcing the final batter to ground out to the mound.
If Wilson loses tonight in its game against Page, it will force a three-team playoff at Stonewall on Thursday. Wilson has already drawn a first game bye, and would face the winner of the Luray and Page playoff game.
