Fort Defiance High to establish endowment

»  Comments | Post a Comment

As Fort Defiance High School kicks off a 50-year celebration at tonight’s homecoming game, a group of alumni is working to establish an endowment fund.

The fund will be established with the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge, and it will benefit the school and students in a variety of ways.

Additionally, money will be raised for other short-term projects, such as an activity center to be built near the football field.

Scott Kimmel, a 1989 Fort Defiance graduate, said alumni are “excited about the opportunity to come together and do something that will have such a positive impact on their high school and, for many, their own children.”
