New traffic signal at I-81 Exit 235 ramps 

VDOT has installed new traffice signals on Route 256 at the Interstate 81 Exit 235 northbound and southbound ramps.

The location is in the Weyers Cave and Blue Ridge Community College area of Augusta County.

The new signals go into the flash mode on Thursday and into full operational mode today.

 

Accident victim in fair condition

A Waynesboro man who was extricated from his pickup truck after a Sunday night accident on U.S. 340  in Crimora, was in fair condition Monday at the University of Virginia Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesman.

Michael Shane Floyd, 36, of Waynesboro, was airlifted to UVa on Sunday night after his Ford Pickup ran off the road and struck a tree on U.S. 340, near Thorofare Road.

Fire and rescue personnel had to extricate Floyd from his totaled truck.

 

Government Center to be closed on Presidents’ Day

All offices at the Augusta County Government Center will be closed on Presidents’ Day on Feb. 20. From staff reports
